ABSTRACT

A large number of natural gas fields is associated with formation of water systems. During gas production from the field formation pressure decreases and creates pressure differential between the aquifer and gas-saturated zones, which allows water to flow into the field. Water drive mechanism of field development appears. Water entering the field, gradually waters production wells and some parts of gas in the reservoir becomes trapped. According to the field data of the worldwide gas fields development final gas recovery factor in conditions of water drive ranges from 0.4 to 0.98 and in average equals 0.70.85 (Zakirov 1988, Kondrat 1992 & Improvement of oil… 2000). Coefficient of residual gas saturation varies between 0.10-0.50 with average value 0.200.30. In the conditions of the world's hydrocarbon resources gradual depletion the issue of trapped gas removal from water flooded fields is paid great attention to. This question is particularly relevant for Ukraine, which imports most part of its consumed gas. As a result the problem of trapped gas recovery from flooded fields has both scientific and practical importance.
