ABSTRACT
One of the most important factors of Ukrainian economy and industries sustainability is appropriate functioning of the country fuel and energy complex the development of which is mostly provided by coal mining. At the same time the world practice demonstrates the great interest to the alternative sources of energy that is caused by depletion and cut of the traditional energy sources. During last years the special attention was paid to coal mining methane (CMM) known as coal methane. The International Symposium on the Alternative Sources of Gas Raw Materials (1992) recognized methane gas, i.e. hydrocarboneous gases, as the most promising source of energy to be used in the nearest future. It is estimated that methane resources to be extracted from coal beds will take the third place among the world reserves of all fuel resources after coal and natural gas, if they are calculated as conditional fuel.
