ABSTRACT

On 12 May 2008, the great Wenchuan earthquake with the magnitude of Mw7.9 occurred in the Longmen Shan fault zone, and caused great loss of lives and properties. In the same region, in the southern part of Longmen Shan fault zone, the Lushan earthquake with the magnitude of Mw6.7 occurred on 20 April 2013. After these earthquakes, several studies using different datasets have investigated the rupture processes of the two earthquakes (Feng et al. 2010, Hartzell et al. 2013, Shen et al. 2009, Wang et al. 2008, 2013, Zhang et al. 2008).
