ABSTRACT

As a solution to the problems of urban traffic, especially the traffic congestion in major cities and megacities, urban rail transit is widely implemented. It plays a significant role in promoting the urban social and economic development. The operation of urban rail transit certainly has a strong impact on the ground transit. Therefore, adjusting the layout of conventional bus line networks for the rail has now become the objective of urban development. There are two main research methods of feeder bus system. Martins CL (Martins C L, Pato M V. 1989) proposed return analysis method; Kuah, et al. (G.K. Kuah, J. Perl. 1989) built network optimization analysis model.These studies pay more attention to theoretical research and lack of practicality. This paper proposes a ground passenger transport network optimization method from the aspects of point, line and surface.
