ABSTRACT

With the rapid development of China’s economic and large-scale urbanization, which is bound to cause the urban resources available compression, city construction development tends to be smooth. Due to the building’s service life, natural disasters, the underestimation in original design and many other factors, buildings have appeared different degrees of damage. Some buildings, because of the particularity of history, the human activities, or the influence of the surrounding environment and the transition of the use function, have become poor constructions. All the demolition and reconstruction, on one hand, will cause a huge waste of resources and investment increase, while on the other hand, after the demolition of the old buildings, will produce building garbage, which not only seriously pollute the surrounding environment, and requires a lot of manpower, material resources, financial resources to deal with. In order to maintain the continuity of the culture and construction of normal use or improve its functions, will gradually highlight the importance of engineering structure reinforcement and reconstruction. In addition, with the development of economic construction, many existing buildings require increased height, improved service load, increased space, added layers, etc. So the identification, maintenance, reinforcement and reconstruction have been gradually put on the agenda.
