A new model adapted for unsaturated soils taking cyclic loading into account

The model developed in this paper is based on Bardet’s model (Bardet 1986). In this model, there is no purely elastic region and hence only one surface, the bounding surface.

1 INTRODUCTION

During the last decades, some studies show the benefits of partial saturation on liquefaction (Chaney 1978, Sherif et al. 1977). To characterize the benefits of decreasing saturation degree, we proposed to modify the previously developed model (Morvan et al., 2009) in order to take this behavior into account.
