ABSTRACT
In this section, some issues in hydro-mechanical behaviour of unsaturated soil are presented for constitutive modeling of unsaturated soil behaviour, through the results of triaxial tests and pressure plate tests on compacted and pre-consolidated clayey silt. The following topics are discussed: effects of the stress-state, density, suction history and soil structure on the soil-water characteristic, and effects of suction history on the hydro-mechanical behaviour.
