ABSTRACT

Early in 1985, Sichuan Higher Institute of Cuisine (predecessor of Sichuan Tourism University) set the special major of cooking process, and added the cooking and nutrition education major in 2004. In 2002, Sichuan Tourism University was integrated with Sichuan Normal University and set tourism management major (direction of cooking and nutrition education) among undergraduate majors, cooking technology, culinary nutrition hygiene, cooking chemistry, nutritional meal distribution

1 INTRODUCTION

On March 18, 2013, vice-minister of the Ministry of Education, Lu Xin delivered an important speech, Speed up the Development of Modern Vocational Education to Provide Technical Support for Building China into a Moderately Prosperous Society in all Respects, at a work conference on vocational education and adult education. The minister stressed that we should construct well the modern vocational education system, and make positive contribution to build China into a moderately prosperous society in all respects.
