ABSTRACT
The past century has witnessed great developments in science and technology innovation, which have exerted a revolutionary impact on translation work by profoundly changing the environment and the way of it (Li, 2004). Translators in today’s market face challenges such as higher requirements on efficiency and accuracy. Meanwhile, it is estimated that technical translation accounts for some 90% of the world’s total translation output each year (Kingscott, 2002). In such a situation, the application of IAT in English-Chinese technical translation attracts people’s attention.
