ABSTRACT
Classroom and casual interaction are two varieties of interactional talk with different communicative purposes. However, some people advocate that classroom interaction should resemble everyday talk so as to improve students’ communicative ability, while others argue that it is impossible to replicate daily conversation in classroom discourse (Seedhouse 1996). Thus it is of practical importance to analyze the features of those interactions.
