ABSTRACT
It is a social security mechanism for professional athletes and related sports organizations, which provides them with fundamental rights to survive and endow them with an ability to further production when occurred accidents. Its social functions lie in ensure that professional sports clubs can timely obtain compensation from insurance companies after suffering economic benefits loss and personal accidents of athletes, it can ensure the normal operation of professional sports clubs and the compensation of personal medical expenses, thus to keep the club and social stable, reflecting the level of economic development of a country and the people-oriented humanistic care. Therefore, under the conditions of market economy, it is an indispensable part of professional sports clubs and has a role to play in protecting the weak, maintaining social stability and promoting the general welfares.
