ABSTRACT

Heat transfer analysis of asphalt pavement was conducted by Tu et al. (2010) based on snow melting process. They developed a model to simulate heat transfer during snow melting process on asphalt concrete pavements based on experimental testing. They calculated the average temperature of tube fluid for a given heat flux by analyzing the heat transfer of pipes. The results showed that the rate of snow fall, ambient temperature, and wind velocity were significantly affecting heat flux through pavement based on investigation of various weather conditions.
