ABSTRACT

Firstly, RMB appreciation reduces the pressure brought about by the anti-dumping and heightens the price of the exported commodities denominated in foreign currency. Raising the price of our exported commodities may decrease the likelihood of suffering from anti-dumping proceedings, thus somewhat improving the export environment. Secondly, RMB appreciation also reduces trade frictions. For quite a long period of time, China has been suffering from trade frictions. RMB appreciation to some extent also alleviates the conflicts or contradictions in the trade relations between China and the USA, between China and Europe, and between China and Japan. Moreover, Since China and Southeast Asian countries share many similarities in export commodity structure, especially in some resources-intensive and laborintensive products, along with RMB appreciation, the trade relations between China and Southeast Asian countries are largely improved.
