ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: Slim tube test has been generally accepted as the standard method for minimum miscible pressure (MMP) determination. Gas injection volume is 1.2 pore volume (PV) in standard slim tube test procedure. In this paper, six slim tube tests are carried out with rich gas injection and lean gas injection. Gas-oil ratio (GOR) is measured in each test, and MMP is determined with different gas injection volume (1.2 PV and more than 1.2 PV) for the rich gas injection tests. The results show that, if the injected rich gas has high intermediate hydrocarbon content, there could be certain deviation in MMP determination with the standard procedure of 1.2 PV gas injection volume, and the oil recovery can be higher with the further increasing gas injection volume.
