ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: Modeling of hysteresis loops for a three-storey precast tunnel form building using Ruaumoko 2D program under in-plane lateral cyclic loading is performed. A one-third scale of three-storey RC building is designed, constructed and tested under quasi-static lateral cyclic loading. The hysteresis loops are obtained from experimental work by plotting the graph load versus displacement using four linear potentiometers. Comparisons of hysteresis loops between experimental and modelling were performed and a good agreement them was obtained. Based on these models and experiment results, the percentage differences between them are calculated for lateral strength, stiffness and ductility. As a conclusion, this type of building can carry gravity loading together with lateral loading and it is safe under seismic loading because the ductility factor lies within the acceptable standard seismic codes of practice.
