ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT: Aqueduct is a kind of bridge type overlapping buildings surmounting other constructions as canal, marsh land, path and rail road, as well as a group of water conveyance system formed by bridges, tunnels canals and so on. Based on its massive utilization in hydraulic engineering and the diversion works in China, the article, through Solver and static load experiment, analyses the mechanical characteristics and calculates the strength of the arch braced aqueduct model with U-shaped section. The result shows that the real deformation stays almost the same with the experimental deformation and the load range of normal use is 15.5∼37.7 kg.
