ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: The aims of our experiment were to evaluate the removal rate of the Trace Organic Pollutants (TOPs) in the wastewater by using new treatment process through comparing the acute toxicity of the organic extracts from effluents treated by different wastewater treatments. The Luminescent Bacteria Toxicity test (LBT) was used to detect the acute toxicity. Phenol equivalent was used to indicate the acute toxicity of the water samples. The results showed the toxicity decreased after wastewater treatment, which demonstrated the toxicity of the TOPs in the effluents was decreased significantly by using the new process. And it was safer by using the new process to treat the municipal water than the present.
