ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: Pd-Fe/graphene catalysts used for the Pd-Fe/graphene gas-diffusion cathodes were prepared using a modified Hummer protocol and a formaldehyde reduction method. The electrochemical degradation of 4-chlorophenol (4-CP) was investigated using a diaphragm electrolysis system. The best electrolyze condition was investigated by changing the current density, electrolyte concentration, initial pH, and reaction time using by response surface methodology (RSM). The best condition was as follows: the initial pH was 7.00, electrolyte (Na2SO4) concentration was 0.02 mol/L, the current was 27 mA/cm2, the reaction time was 100 min. The degradation efficiency of cathodic and anodic compartment was more than 98% and 95%, respectively.
