ABSTRACT
Insider attacks (IA), also called “Green on Blue” attacks, occur when a person or persons in a position of trust with the International SecurityAssistance Force (ISAF) and/or the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) initiates an act of violence against the ISAF/ANSF. Such Insider Attacks are a major problem for deployed personnel in Afghanistan, accounting for a significant number of casualties. This paper outlines research conducted on behalf of the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) to tackle this problem.
