ABSTRACT

The PSA, in a global dimension, is in constant evolution since the seventies. Furthermore, in the Portuguese case, is being assumed a relevant importance, not only by sustained growth, but also by the creation of jobs, as has been observed in the last years. According to the Relatório Anual da Segurança Privada (RASP), in 2011 were active (bound by contract of employment with a PS company) 40.287 vigilants and 112 licensed PS entities providing services (MAI, 2012).
