ABSTRACT

The active system includes the mechanisms that allow the body to adapt by itself to stressful hot environments (such as sweating and vasodilation).

The module now presented is the basis of the passive system. It allows predicting heat dissipation throughout any part of the body considering the geometry of the segment and its composition (i.e. takes into account the size and shape of the body element and its internal constitution as well as the distribution of the various kinds of tissue). It also allows calculating the spatial over time distribution of the temperature in different body parts, considering environmental exposure and body condition at exposure time.
