ABSTRACT

The bacterium is transmitted from person to person through droplets of 1 μm to 5 μm of diameter, during the acts of sneezing, coughing and conversation. These particles can remain in suspension for a long period of time (Santos 2008). TB can cause illness and death among professionals (Chai et al. 2013). Therefore it is necessary to implement control measures and effective screening programs in health facilities for their own Professionals (Salt et al. 2007). Training and prevention are equally important to reduce the risk of transmission of the bacillus (Naidoo et al. 2013; Cuhadaroglu et al. 2002). Workers’ immunization, triage and patients treatment, are examples of other measures to develop. (Laraqui et al. 2004).
