ABSTRACT

The IAH Commission on Hardrock Hydrogeology (HyRoC) became a significant feature of the International Association of Hyrogeologists since the early 1990s. It has focussed research on crystalline and consolidated sedimentary rocks. We review the importance of the field (groundwater production, environmental protection, geotechnical issues, and geothermal energy); the hisory of the Commission, and future significant issues.
