ABSTRACT

The success of orthodontic treatment greatly depends on appropriate, stable anchorage, and a number of temporary anchorage device (TAD) systems are invented to assist with stability. The need for supplemental anchorage is particularly visible in low-compliant patients, periodontal problems and hypodontia (Kanomi 1997). There are many advantages for use of mini-screw type implants in various areas of oral cavity, since their insertion and removal are easy, and surgery is atraumatic.
