ABSTRACT
Solving math word problems can be a challenge for many students. The inability to compute a correct solution after many attempts creates frustration and sometimes a fear of solving math word problems. The most effective approach to resolve this issue is accurately pointing out what is the mistake made by the student. Students are better served through learning from their mistakes versus building anxiety from attempting to find the solution without knowing where he or she made an error.
