ABSTRACT
In connection with the sharp decrease of investments in the development of power grids and technical re-equipment, development of mode control systems and electric power assessment, there emerged the tendencies, having a negative influence on the level of grid losses. These tendencies are as follows: out-of-date equipment, physical and moral depreciation of power supply systems components, noncompliance of installed equipment with the transmitted load. From the above said it follows that against the background of ongoing changes of the economic mechanism in the energy sector and economic relations changes in the country, the problem of reducing power losses in power grids hasn't lost its topicality, but on the contrary, has distinguished itself as one of the tasks ensuring the financial stability of energy supplying organizations.
