ABSTRACT

Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Rapid Prototyping (RP) have changed the face of design over the past two decades. Advances ranging from the original 2D drafting programs to today’s cutting edge 3D packages have paved the way for more complex design, testing and validation methods. As the evolution of CAD packages continues, most of the drive behind their development has been from the field of engineering. Little effort has been directed towards the development of intuitive 3D modelling packages that assist in the creation of organic forms and the potential for more fluidic design.
