ABSTRACT
While the AIMSUN software allows for generation of realistic traffic in a road network, the first version of the traffic model (the version used herein) is limited to linear network simulation with all heavy vehicles placed in the slow lane and it need a post processing to include vehicle lengths and vehicle weights information. Future versions of the model under development will overcome these limitations and allow simulations of special events like a lane closure or the opening a new highway exit.
