ABSTRACT
A simplified verification of the LTB resistance is proposed in the Eurocode 3 (1998), which is nothing more than a calculation method similar to what is used in the solid beams, considering the reduction of the cross-section geometrical characteristics due to the openings. This motivated an evaluation of the elastic critical moment of these elements with the ANSYS (2009) program.
