New experimental method for determining the stiffness and strength of steel storage rack floor connections

In A.2.7.2 of EN 15512 it is said that “alternatives may be used, provided they accurately model the real structure condition”. Here an alternative method is proposed, that verifies these condition. Figure 2 shows the test arrangement proposed. The concrete block is completely fixed. A single upright sample of 600 mm length with the base-plate is fixed to it (with or without anchorages, as the case may be), and at the head of the upright the axial and the transversal forces are applied.
