Experimental evaluation of the response of ferrocement strengthened lightweight masonry walls to impact loads

The impact test apparatus developed and used in this research is basically a pendulum mass that is released to fall freely from a specified height (Figure 1). The overall nominal dimensions of the tested specimens are in Figure 2. The applied impact force is measured by the load cell attached to the impact head, while the reactions are measured by the four load cells at the supports on the back face of the specimen.
