ABSTRACT

The shear capacity of steel plate girders with slender webs can be calculated using Tension field theory proposed by Basler and other researchers. Kimura et al. (2001) proposes the post-buckling shear strength of thin aluminum alloy plates by using the elastic limit width-to-thickness ratio and the plastic limit width-tothickness ratio. Salminen and Heinisuo (2012) discuss the shear resistance of thin plate girder web panel at elevated temperatures and compare numerical results with results of an analytical model based on Eurocode.
