ABSTRACT

To predict the toxic hazards of fire smoke the concept of the Fractional Effective Dose (FED) is used (ISO13571 2012, ISO13344 2004). The Fractional Effective Doses of the main components from the fire smoke (CO, CO2, HCN etc.) are formed for every minute of the exposure interval and then summed up. If the sum of all doses over the exposure time reaches the value 1, incapacitation or death occurs (ISO13571 2012).
