ABSTRACT
Several publications giving an overview of the Safety in Design are available [Safework Australia 2012], [Workcover NSW, 2001] as a starting point.
These can be supplemented with recommendations from codes of practice and guidance material, which deal with good practice on issues as plant, steel or concrete construction, bridge beams, and bins/silos. Further information on hazards specific to the resources industry can be obtained from industry initiatives, safety alerts/bulletins from various government agencies or from reports relating to major or fatal accidents.
