ABSTRACT

The front side of the robotic platform is shown in Figure 1. Two acoustic arrays and four electrical resistivity probes are attached. Each of the acoustic arrays has multiple sources (impactors) and receivers. Different combinations of those are utilized to conduct multiple IE and USW tests. The primary goal of IE survey is to detect and characterize delamination, while the USW method is deployed to obtain information about the concrete quality through a measurement of concrete elastic modulus. The two acoustic arrays are

1.8 m wide enabling surveys over a half of the width of a typical lane in a single robot run. The four resistivity probes are the Wenner probes spaced 45 cm apart. The ER is used to assess the potential for corrosive environment.
