ABSTRACT

A research and development project, financed by the power company Vattenfall Europe Generation AG, has been initiated to monitor and analyze the load bearing and deformation behavior of a massive foundation slab, which has a thickness of 3.80 m, for carrying the main buildings of a new power plant unit in Boxberg, Germany. The aim is to verify existing soilstructure-interaction models and to get an idea about the settlement behavior and its influence on the total structure. For a detailed description of the whole measuring program and for a theoretical background of the modeling of the soil-structure-interaction as well see (Harte & Stopp 2008, Stopp 2010).
