ABSTRACT

An original design of in-stream settling tank for effective treatment of mine waters from suspended solids of polydisperse composition in the low-rate stream by gravitational settling technique. The shape and the structure of partitions of the settling tank that provide water flow mode close to laminar are analyzed. Main geometric parameters of the proposed settling tank with consideration of real coal mine drainage conditions are selected. The required quantity of perforated partitions is substantiated. The efficiency indices for mine water clarification are presented.
