ABSTRACT
The analysis of current situation in coal mining branch in all over the world and separately in Ukraine is realized. Application of selective mining for development low-thickness unconditional coal seams is substantiated. The main conclusions about advantages and disadvantages of separate mining of coal and rock are stated.
