ABSTRACT

When considering different components consisting of the same material, the material properties depend on their geometries and the manufacturing processes. Even when using the same constitutive model, the related material parameter set needs to be identified for each component separately. Industrial practice, however, is to use standard

1 INTRODUCTION

The realistic representation of the material behaviour of components in FEM simulations remains a major challenge. In most cases this is restricted by the respective finite element model and the used material model. Additionally, in industrial applications the stability and computational efficiency of FE simulations is of great importance. Therefore, the typical challenge is to find the right compromise between specific demands and economic restrictions.
