ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses lithium treatment with a special focus on women’s issues, including contraception, planning of pregnancy, monitoring during pregnancy, teratogenic risks and breast-feeding recommendations. Additional sex-related aspects are discussed concerning response and adverse effects related to lithium treatment.
