ABSTRACT
It is often emphasized that economic life is a part of social life, to which it is bound by the norms, rules, moral obligations and other uses and customs that together make up what we call ‘society’; it is therefore profoundly rooted in society, and its analysis cannot be separated from that of the (formal and tacit) values and rules governing the way in which society works.
