An application of the schoolwide enrichment model and high- end learning theory to innovation education

Summary: This chapter summarizes the ways in which the implementation of enrichment pedagogy has created opportunities for student successes at a small, urban Academy of high potential youth, known as the Renzulli Academy. The use of the Schoolwide Enrichment Model has resulted in creative and innovative learning challenges for students who attend the academy. In this chapter, we discuss the philosophy of the Renzulli Academy, the curriculum used to challenge these advanced learners, our preliminary identification procedures, and the ways in which we focus on innovation and creativity to foster a culture of achievement and innovation.
