Regulators’ Need for Quality Information and the Provision of Bus Services in Scotland

This chapter examines the general question of regulators’ need for quality information by focusing on an industry which was regulated from 1930, but which was partially deregulated (particularly in respect of economic matters) in 1985. By focusing on an industry which has been, and still is to some extent, regulated, it is hoped to cover matters of interest and relevance to the regulation of bus services as well as more general contemporary developments in economic regulation.
