ABSTRACT
The Pineda Foundation collection (Volume 47) in the National Library of Colombia, contains a small work whose long title is: ‘Observaciones y argumentos sobre el estado político de la República de Colombia, antecedido de un Tratado Sucinto sobre la Economía, con notas contra algunos de los principios de Juan Bautista Say y Jeremías Bentham’ (Observations and discussions upon the political state of the Republic of Colombia, preceded by a brief Treatise on the Economy, with notes against some of the principles of Jean Baptiste Say and Jeremy Bentham), which we shall refer to as the ‘treatise’. It seems that the work was planned to be written in four volumes, but in the Pineda Foundation collection, only the first volume is to be found.
