ABSTRACT

Table 14.1 (page 298-9) shows the distribution of the foreign opera-

tions (only) of these 110 firms, headquartered in fifteen principal home nations. The US, UK, and France are by far the leading home or source countries where the multinational hotel firms are headquartered, accounting for 55 per cent of the world total. One noteworthy change is the increase in the share for Asia as a source region, from 7.4 per cent in the Dunning and McQueen (1981) study to 17.28 per cent in 1991.
