ABSTRACT
The Defence Research Agency (DRA), formerly the Royal Armament Research and Development Establishment, (RARDE), has contributed to many investigations over more than 25 years where misuse of explosives in civilian aircraft was suspected. An international reputation has been established since the late 1960s in the art of recognising and characterising the unique signatures of a high order detonation on metallic and non-metallic materials found in aircraft.
