ABSTRACT
Whereas the focus of this book is electronic preparation and filing of patent applications, the choice of various application filing modules depends greatly on the type and scope of the patent application. This chapter summarizes patentability requirements as a primer to the field of patenting and in determining the essential features of an application, particularly in the U.S. Abbreviated definitions are provided with the assumption that the reader is well versed in the field of patent law.
