Indeed, it can be said that of all the significant advances made in forensic science during the past decade, forensic biology has made the greatest strides. Blood is present at most crimes involving violence. It can be used to determine the sequence of events in a crime and tie a suspect to a crime scene. Today, forensic DNA typing has a significant impact on violent criminal investigations and has revolutionized the ability to identify criminals through national DNA offender databases.
