ABSTRACT

During the period of formalisation of the multiplier, the notion of multiplication was never called into question. The main problem was rather to prove that the final amount of income was a finite quantity1 because the inability to establish the existence of a finite limit to the multiplication process would have ipso facto revealed a flaw in the analysis.
