ABSTRACT

The Keynesian multiplier and the theory of effective demand are no doubt among the most revolutionary aspects of the General Theory. Since Keynes, the multiplier has been at the core of Keynesian and post-Keynesian economic theories, which rely on its existence to justify activist or expansionary government fiscal policies aimed at regulating business cycles and reducing unemployment.
